Q. Why aren’t there any sports networks in the Family Package?
A.
With the broadcast channels that are available in the Family
Package, customers have access to a wide array of sports programming.
Broadcast networks also carry a variety of other sports including NBA,
NCAA Men’s & Women’s College Basketball Tournaments, MLB, etc.
throughout the year. For example, more than 80 percent of NFL games this
season were shown on broadcast networks. In addition, Cox is doing our
best to keep the cost of the Family package low and sports networks are
some of the most expensive. Plus, families might find some of the
programming on certain sports networks objectionable.
Q. Why can’t I have the Family Package in my living room and Cox
Digital Cable in my bedroom?
A.
All televisions in the home
are subject to the restrictions of the Family Package. Customers will be
unable to select alternate or additional programming tiers throughout
the home due to technical limitations. Subscription to this package
requires that we filter Expanded Basic and digital channels from
entering your home.
Q. Why can’t I access On DEMAND if I subscribe to the Family Package?
A.
On DEMAND is a feature of Cox Digital Cable. Therefore, you must
subscribe to digital cable in order to enjoy the On DEMAND line up.

A.

Q. Why can’t I access more HD programming with the Family Package?
A.
Customers can purchase the HD broadcast package, which carries many

Other HD networks carry programming that does not fit within the content
guidelines of the family package, or require purchase of the standard
definition channel (e.g. must have ESPN to receive ESPN HD, TNT to
receive TNT HD, etc.) Most of these channels are included in our
Expanded Basic Tier. Cox built the Family Package around networks that
carry little to no objectionable programming and many of the HD networks
do not meet that standard.
Q. Why can’t I subscribe to Cox DVR service with the Family Package?
A.
Because DVR from Cox is a
service of Cox Digital Cable, customers who do not subscribe to digital
will not have access to DVR.

Family Package, so customers cannot select alternate or additional
programming tiers for televisions throughout the home.

included in the package price of $36.50. Additional receivers may be
leased for $4.50/month each, or you can choose to receive Limited Basic
service only by hooking the cable directly to your television set.

trip charge. A technician must visit your home to install a device that
filters out expanded and digital services.
