The Cox Digital Interactive At8400 Remote Control is programmed to control power in one of the following ways:

  • For a specified device, regardless of the last-selected mode button, such as TV, VCR, AUX, or CBL

    Note: In AUX mode, the remote always controls the volume for the device assigned to the AUX button.
  • For the device associated with the last-selected mode button

Note: To test your remote to see how it currently controls the volume for different devices, press the volume control buttons while in different modes.

Volume control settings affect the following buttons:

  • VOL+
  • VOL-
  • MUTE

Note: To assign volume control to a Cox digital cable receiver, complete the following steps before continuing:

  1. Press the SETTINGS button to access the General Settings onscreen menu.
  2. Verify that the Audio: Volume Control setting is Variable.

To set the volume controls to control volume for a specified device regardless of the last-selected mode button, perform the following steps:

  1. Press and hold the SELECT button and the CBL button until all mode buttons blink twice.
  2. Using the number buttons, enter 9 - 9 - 3.

    Result: The CBL button blinks twice.
     

  3. Press the mode button associated with the device you want the volume controls to control.

    Result:

    • All mode buttons blink three times
    • The volume controls control only the device associated with the mode button you selected, regardless of the current mode

To set the volume controls to control volume for the device associated with the last-selected mode button, perform the following steps:

  1. Press and hold the SELECT button and the CBL button until all mode buttons blink twice.
  2. Using the number buttons, enter 9 - 9 - 3.

    Result: The CBL button blinks twice.
     

  3. Press the SELECT button.

    Result:

    • All mode buttons blink three times
    • The volume controls control the device associated with the last-selected mode button
