Adding a Static IP Address for MalBlock DNS Security for Bring Your Own Broadband

Solution

If you are not in one of Cox Business’ franchise locations and are not being served by Cox’s Internet service, you must have a static IP address with another provider before you can use MalBlock. If you have multiple static IPs or want to make a change to your account, you may need to add or change your IP address. The MalBlock service can support up to two IP addresses.

Complete the following steps to add a static IP address in Cox Business MyAccount.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com and sign in using your User ID and Password.
 

Note: If you have not yet registered for a User ID, you may do so by selecting Register.

From the Services section, click the Internet icon.

From the Business Internet page, click the MalBlock DNS Security icon.

From the MalBlock DNS Security window, scroll down to the MalBlock DNS Security table, click the Static IP Address button.

From the MalBlock IP Address Management window, click Add IP Address.

Note: Only two IP addresses can be displayed at a time. Did the Add IP Address link display?

  • If yes, then continue to the next step.
  • If no, then proceed to step 7 to delete an IP address from the list and repeat step 5.

From the Add IP Address pop-up window complete the following steps.

  1. In the Select IP Type field, click on the drop-down arrow and select IPv4 or IPv6.

  2. In the Static IP Address field, enter either the IPv4 or IPv6 IP address.
  3. In the Confirm Static IP Address field, re-enter the IP address.
  4. Click Confirm.

To delete an IP address from the MalBlock IP Address Management window, next to the IP address you want to delete, click the trash can icon.
