Creating Scenes in Your Security Solutions Subscriber Portal

Solution

Scenes are located on the subscriber portal home page and allow you to execute automated processes. When a scene is created, you may run the defined process by clicking the scenes icon.
 

Follow the steps below to create or edit a scene in the subscriber portal.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you have not created a MyAccount profile with a User ID and Password, see Setting Up Your MyAccount Profile.

From the Services section, click the Security Systems icon.

Do you have more than one account?

  • If no, then continue to the next step.
  • If yes, then from the Select an account drop-down menu, select the account to modify.

From the Security page, click the Launch portal button.

On the left-hand menu of the subscriber portal home page, click Automation.

On the top menu of the Automation page, click Scenes.

On the Scenes page, click NEW SCENE to create a new automated process.

Complete the following steps to choose an icon and icon color for the home page scene button.

  1. On the left-hand side of the Scene Name field, click the large icon button.

  2. Click the desired icon and icon color for the new scene.

  3. Click outside of the Icon Selection window to save your preferences.

In the Scene Name field, enter a name for the new scene.

Follow the steps below to add the automated processes, based on your service plan.

  1. On the Alarm panel display, select one of the following options.
    • Disarm: Disarms the security system.
    • Arm (Stay): Arms the security system in stay mode.
      • If Arm (Stay) is selected, click to select no option, No Entry Delay, Silent Arming, or Both.
    • Arm (Away): Arms the security system in away mode.
      • If Arm (Away) is selected, click to select no option, No Entry Delay, Silent Arming, or Both.

  2. On the Thermostat panel display, select one or more of the following options.
    • Custom Temperature: The heat and cool temperature may be set
    • Temperature Mode: The heating, cooling, auto, or off capability may be set
    • Schedule: The on or off capability may be configured
    • Fan: The auto or on capability may be configured
    • Temperature Sensors: The heating and cooling sensors may be set

  3. On the Light panel display, select to have lights turn On or Off.

  4. Click Save.
