DNS Transition
Cox Business is decommissioning our Domain Name System (DNS) server, and we will no longer offer DNS Hosting service effective December 11, 2024.
The DNS Services server hosts records with information like IP addresses, mail server details, and assets for websites. To prevent disruptions to your business email or websites, you will need to move your DNS records to a new server. DNS Services are usually offered by web hosting and domain registrar providers.
- A simple option is to transfer DNS records to the registrar you are currently using.
- Most registrars provide DNS hosting at no additional fee.
To prevent disruption to your website, email, and related services, complete the following steps.
- Contact your domain registrar or other provider.
- Transfer your DNS records from Cox Business to the other provider's service.
- Validate the functionality of your website's DNS service.
- Send a test email to confirm that emails are routing correctly.
Note: Cox does not charge a fee for DNS hosting service and no other Cox Business services will be affected.
