Follow the steps below to sign in to the Cox Hotspots or the CableWiFi network.
Note: The following notes apply to Cox Business customers.
- The Cox User ID is the same as the one you use to sign in to My Account at CoxBusiness.com.
- Ensure the Cox User ID has access to Cox Hotspots in MyAccount. Refer to Managing Cox Hotspot Users in MyAccount.

Cox Internet customer in a Cox service area | - Enable WiFi on your wireless device and search for available networks.
- In your list of available networks, select CoxWiFi or CoxWiFi_premium.
- Launch your Internet browser.
- Sign in with your Cox User ID and Password.
Note: The Cox User ID is the same as the one you use to sign in to My Account at Cox.com. |
Cox customer or a customer in a partnering provider's service area | - Enable WiFi on your wireless device and search for available networks.
- In your list of available networks, select CableWiFi.
- Launch your Internet browser.
- Select your Internet provider from the list.
- Sign in with your Cox User ID and Password.

Cox Business customer but do not have a user ID and password | - If you are a new customer, then access the MyAccount Setup page and follow the directions based on being a new customer.
- If you are an existing customer, then contact your profile administrator. Refer to
Managing Cox Business Users Online.
Note: If your profile administrator is unable to locate the User ID, then contact us for assistance. |
Cox Business customer but forgot your user ID or password | Refer to Trouble Signing in on the Cox Website. |
A new Cox Internet customer awaiting install of your new service | The following process is for new residential customers. If you are a Cox Business customer, then access the MyAccount Setup page and follow the directions based on being a new customer.
- A Cox User ID and Password are necessary to access Cox Hotspots. Do you have a Cox User ID and Password set up?
- For new customers or customers without an established Cox Identity, you'll need to register your account on Cox.com. Refer to Registering Your Cox Account Online.
- For existing customers with a Cox User ID and Password, continue to the next step.
Note: If you do not remember your User ID or Password, or experience an issue signing in, see Recover Your Cox User ID or Reset Your Cox Password.
- Enable WiFi on your wireless device and search for available networks.
- In your list of available networks, select CoxWiFi or CoxWiFi_premium.
- Launch your Internet browser.
- Sign in with your Cox User ID and Password.

Anyone in a Cox service area who wants to connect to a Cox WiFi network as a StraightUp Internet Hotspot Pass user | - Enable WiFi on your wireless device and search for available networks.
- In your list of available networks, select CoxWiFi.
- From the Cox Hotspots Log In pop-up window, select Not a Cox Customer.
- From the StraightUp Internet Hotspot Pass window, complete the following steps.
- Select the pass option you prefer.
- 2 Hour Pass - $4
- 24 Hour Pass - $8
- 1 Week Pass - $20
Note: Hotspot passes are enabled for a single device.
- In the Enter email address field, enter the email address where you want to receive your receipt.
- Review the Purchase Summary section, then click to review each of the following.
- Privacy Policy
- WiFi Terms of Service
- Acceptable Use Policy
- Place a check in the box to agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click Next.
- From the StraightUp Internet Hotspot Pass Billing Information window, complete all fields, then click Submit.
Result: The Transaction Details window displays your pass details and an email receipt is sent to the email address you entered. Connecting Devices
Due to the numerous WiFi devices and configurations available, Cox is only able to confirm that Cox Hotspots service is functioning correctly. Cox does not offer technical support for connecting devices to the internet. For additional assistance using your device, refer to the device user manual or support website.
For general information on how to connect to the Cox Hotspots network, find your device or operating system in the table below.

- Tap Wi-Fi.
- If Wi-Fi is set to OFF, tap the OFF button to turn it on.

Kindle Fire | - Tap Quick Settings or Wireless.
- Tap Wi-Fi.
- If Wi-Fi is set to OFF, tap ON to turn it on.

Mac OS X | AirPort is used on Macs to set up and manage Wi-Fi connections. The AirPort icon is found in the menu bar next to the clock. If the icon is empty, Airport is turned off, or you are not within Wi-Fi range. If the icon is filled in, you are currently within the Wi-Fi range. To turn AirPort on: - Click the AirPort icon.
- Select Turn AirPort On.

- Select CoxWiFi / CoxWiFi_premium / CableWiFi from the list of available networks (SSIDs).
Result: Once connected, a checkmark will appear in the AirPort menu next to the selected SSID. - Launch your Internet browser.
- Sign in with your Username and Password.

Windows 10 | - From the App list, tap Settings.
- Click Network & Internet.
- Click Wi-Fi.
- Make sure Wi-Fi networking is set to On.
