After the cable modem is successfully registered on the network, a single solid white LED illuminates continuously to indicate that the cable modem is online and fully operational.

Important: After connecting the modem for the first time, wait 10-15 minutes before attempting to complete the WiFi setup or get online. Do not unplug the modem from power or factory reboot the modem during the initial 10-15 minute firmware download and modem registration process.

The Technicolor CGA4332 has the following ports available on the back of the modem.

  • Eight Telephone ports - The CGA4332 supports up to eight traditional phones or DECT base stations to connect to the gateway. Single-line customers can use the Tel 2/Alarm port to connect an auto-dial alarm system.

Note: Telephone ports are a future enhancement and are not available at this time.

  • Six Ethernet ports - The first four Ethernet ports can transfer up to 1 Gbps data, while the fifth and sixth ports can have a combined data transfer speed of 2 Gbps.

Note: For our Cox Business Fiber Internet customers, only five Ethernet ports are available. The sixth port is used to connect the gateway to the ONT so that the gateway is configured in eWAN mode as a router.

MAC Address and Network Name (SSID)

Image of MAC Address

MAC addresses are written as 12 digits containing both letters and numbers (0-9, A-F). A MAC address is unique. The first six characters of the MAC address are unique to the device's manufacturer.

Initial installation requires changing the Network Name (SSID) and password. The Network Name (SSID) and password listed on the bottom of the device are only used to connect to the modem during the initial installation. Technicolor recommends using a single Network Name (SSID) for the CGA4332 because the modem automatically chooses the best network for each connected device. Ensure all WiFi-ready devices recognize the single Network Name (SSID).

When connecting to the Guest WiFi or Cox WiFi SSID for the first time, you may be required to review and accept the Acceptable Use Policy terms and conditions.
