Updating Cox Business Security Solution Surveillance Digital Watchdog Firmware

Solution

Before you begin the update, review the following information.

  • You must have administrator access to upgrade the system.
  • Complete the upgrade using your PC Client, not your mobile app.
  • The upgrade process will take about three to five minutes.
  • Cameras will not record during the upgrade, but all configuration settings, including users, camera names, and layouts, will remain intact.

Complete the following steps to update the Digital Watchdog Client to the latest firmware on one or more Digital Watchdog Cubes.

From the Home page, complete the following steps:

  1. In the right-hand menu, right click the system name next to the Home icon.
  2. Click System Administration.

From the System Administration page, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Updates tab.

  2. Under Latest Available Update, what is displayed?
    • If The latest version is already installed displays, then your your firmware is current. No further action required. All steps complete.

    • If a version number displays, then complete the following steps.
      1. Click Download.

        Result: A progress bar displays.

      2. Once the download is complete, click Install update.

When the Update completed pop-up displays, click the OK button to close the window.

Check the camera views to verify they are displaying properly.
