These five tips will enhance your Cox Mobile experience. Learn about inverted colors, voice texting, larger text, one-handed mode, and split screen.
Whether you use your Cox Mobile phone for work, entertainment or connecting with loved ones, learning how to use your phone's features can help you get the most out of your device.
Here are five ways to improve your Cox Mobile experience.
1. Inverted Colors
Inverted colors refer to changing dark text on a light screen to light text on a dark screen. This can reduce eye strain, make the screen easier to read in low light and help low-vision users. To automate the inverted colors feature:
iPhone: Go to Settings and tap Accessibility. Then select Display and Text Size, and toggle on the Smart Invert feature.
Android: Go to Settings, tap Accessibility, select Visibility Enhancements and toggle on Color Inversion.
2. Voice Texting
Voice texting lets users quickly and conveniently send messages without typing. This feature is useful for long texts or when your hands are occupied. Here's how to set it up:
iPhone: Open messages, tap the microphone icon on the keyboard, speak your message into the phone and then tap send.
Android: Use the same process.
3. Larger Text
Increase the text size on mobile screens whenever you find the default text size too small to read comfortably. This will make reading easier and reduce eye strain. To increase text size:
iPhone: Go to Settings and select Accessibility. Choose Display & Text Size and adjust the Text Size slider.
Android: Go to Settings, tap Accessibility and select Font Size. Adjust the slider to your preferred text size.
4. One-Handed Mode
The one-handed mode makes it easier to use your phone with one hand by lowering the top half of the screen towards the middle. This makes it more accessible with the fingers or thumb on one hand.
This feature is convenient for users with large phones and for users who often have one hand occupied by holding something else, like a briefcase or a child's hand.
iPhone: Set up one-handed mode by going to Settings and tapping Accessibility then Touch. Enable Reachability, then swipe down on the screen's bottom edge to activate one-handed mode.
Android: Go to Settings and tap Advanced Features. Then select One-Handed Mode and toggle it on.
5. Split Screen/Picture-in-Picture for Multitasking
If you use multiple apps on your mobile phone at the same time, the split screen feature on Android and iPhone (13 and older) and Picture-in-Picture feature on iPhone (14 and newer) and Android can let you see and run two apps simultaneously.
Use the mobile split screen feature to reference one app while working in another, like reading an email while studying a spreadsheet. To set up Split Screen:
iPhone 13 and older: To set up the Split Screen feature, position your phone sideways to Landscape mode, open an app and swipe up from the bottom to open the dock. Then drag another app from the dock to the left or right side of the screen, and you're all set.
Android: Open an app and tap the Recent Apps button. Tap the app icon you need and select Split Screen. Then, choose the second app to open in split-screen mode.
Use Picture-in-Picture to view video while running other apps. To set up:
iPhone 14 and newer: Open Settings, tap on General and select Picture-in-Picture. Or just swipe left across the bottom of your phone to see each launched app.
Android: Go to Settings, Tap Apps or Apps & Notifications and tap Picture-in-Picture. Then choose an app from the list, and tap the Allow picture-in-picture to activate.
