Celebrate Women’s History Month by watching these fierce ladies light up the screen.
Is there anything better than curling up on the couch with a snack to watch a really good TV show? We certainly don't think so. Whether your vice is action, drama, comedy, romance, or a combo, TV has never been better—and the talent on display is amazing.
In honor of Women's History Month, we're highlighting some of the best characters you can watch on TV. Here are just some of the most talented leading ladies you can catch up with now with Cox Contour TV and Contour Stream Player. Just say the title of the show into your Contour Voice Remote to start your watch party.
1. Beth from Yellowstone
How do we even begin to describe Beth Dutton? The lone sister on the Dutton family tree is nothing short of a firecracker, and she won't let you forget it. Beth's frankness is outshone only by her fearless confidence and highly watchable ability to shut down her family's enemies. Whether she's taking on corporate heads or her own family, Beth is a force to be reckoned with and absolutely mesmerizing to watch on screen. Watch Beth get stuff done on Peacock Premium.
2. Veronica from Riverdale
In the famed comic strip, Archie comics' Veronica Lodge can come across a little, let's just say, two-dimensional. An heiress in her own right, comic strip Veronica uses her wealth to get what she wants (which is usually Archie).
In this dark and zany reimagining, the character is elevated for 21st century audiences. Willful, driven and ambitious, Veronica is a natural leader who was born to be in charge. Protective of her friends, and not afraid to call them out if they're doing something wrong, she’s undoubtedly one of the most intriguing characters on teen TV today. Catch up with Veronica, Archie and the gang on Netflix, and see how you can watch the new season as soon as it airs with our How to Watch Live TV Guide.
3. Bela from the Sex Lives of College Girls
Bela is fun, loving, upbeat and endlessly ambitious. She wants to become a comedy writer more than anything and will stop at nothing to realize her dreams. Supportive, funny and always down for a good time, we dare you not to fall in love with Bela and her friends. Catch up on season one on HBO Max.
4. Devi Vishwakumar from Never Have I Ever
When we first meet Devi, she’s learning to cope with the sudden death of her father while also trying to survive school, live up to her mother's expectations, and grab the attention of her crush, Paxton Hall-Yoshida. But don't let the show's morose premise fool you. Never Have I Ever is laugh-out-loud funny, smart and charming. Watch spirited, driven and endlessly awkward Devi in the first two seasons out now on Netflix.
5. Olivia Pope from Scandal
A PR dream (or nightmare, depending on who you are), Olivia Pope, D.C.-based crisis manager, is the best at what she does. Her people-reading ability borders on superhuman, and if she detects a lie, you'd better buckle up for the ride of your life because she won’t let you get away with it. Far from being a hero, this character is manipulative, ruthless and completely mesmerizing to watch. Catch the full series on Bounce.
6. Nicky Koles in Grand Crew
Grand Crew expertly highlights the importance of having supportive, positive friendships in your life, and Nicky Koles is the kind of friend we all wish we had. Direct, warm and oh-so funny, Nicky is a high-powered realtor by day and a wine-loving confidante by night. She loves her job and works hard to make her life what she wants it to be. Always there for her friends and ready for a good time, you won't want to miss Nicky and the crew. Watch it on NBC and Peacock.
7. Susie Myerson in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
The no-nonsense manager of Midge Maisel is blunt, assertive, and selectively vulnerable—a combination that's an absolute joy to see on screen. Totally unafraid to speak her mind, watching Susie guide her star comedienne through her career is an utter delight and the chemistry between the two characters is the stuff of dreams. Her tough love and sardonic attitude turn traditional female roles on their head to create a character that's at once tender and made of steel. You can watch Midge and Susie's latest shenanigans on Amazon Prime.
