Any Cox Mobile customer may enroll in the Cox Mobile Protection Plan with an eligible device. Customers may enroll a newly purchased device or an eligible device they bring with them.

You may add Cox Mobile Protection Plan during checkout online, in-store, or by calling Cox when you purchase a new device or bring your own eligible device.

At this time, Cox Mobile customers may only enroll an eligible device:
 

  • When they bring their own device or purchase a new device on a new line
  • When they purchase a new device on an existing line

For your convenience, the Cox Mobile Protection Plan monthly charge, plus any applicable taxes, will appear on your Cox Mobile bill.

Yes. You may cancel Cox Mobile Protection Plan at any time by calling 800.234.3993 or by logging into your Cox online account and receive a prorated refund of your unused monthly charge.

With Cox Mobile Protection Plan, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that, should the unexpected happen to your device, you can get back up and running quickly while avoiding costly replacements.

Cox Mobile Protection Plan covers your device in the event of:

  • Loss
  • Theft
  • Damage
  • Accidental damage from handling (drops, spills, and cracked screens)
  • Mechanical/electrical failure after manufacturer's warranty expires

Depending on your claim, the following may be covered:

 

  • Phone: Includes the device and, if part of the covered breakdown, standard battery (if removable), standard battery charger, and SIM card.

No, as soon as same-day cracked screen repair is available for eligible devices in select areas. Same-day repair option depends on claim approval time, parts availability and technician availability.

If your device is eligible for cracked screen repair, once your claim is approved, the claims expert or web portal will inform you of the options available. Options may include taking your device to a local repair location, having a technician come to you or mailing your device in for repair. Repair options are all subject to parts, location and technician availability.

You will be able to file an unlimited number of claims for device malfunctions related to your battery after the manufacturer’s warranty expires and after completion of diagnostic testing. Battery replacement claims do not count toward the Plan’s claim limits. Battery replacement is for eligible devices and subject to technician and parts availability.

If your device is eligible for battery replacement, once your claim is approved, the claims expert will inform you of the options available. Options may include taking your device to a local repair location or having a technician come to you. Repair options are all subject to parts, location and technician availability.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.  The following are excluded from coverage, losses caused or resulting from abuse; misuse; fire; service performed by anyone not authorized by the Provider, Administrator (including any contracted third-party providers); intentional damage; acts of God or recall. For a full list of exclusions and limitations, refer to the Cox Mobile Protection Plan Terms and Conditions.

While new devices generally come with a manufacturer’s warranty, that warranty typically covers mechanical and electrical breakdown for 12 months. Asurion can help connect you with the manufacturer if the warranty covers the breakdown. Cox Mobile Protection Plan provides benefits above and beyond the manufacturer’s warranty.

Cox Mobile Protection Plan is a combination of insurance, service contract, and technical support.  The insurance is underwritten by Allianz Global Risks US Insurance Company; Asurion Insurance Services, Inc. (in California, Agent license #0B35141; in Iowa, Agent #1001000131) is the Agent and provides claims servicing under this program.  The service contract is provided by Asurion Technology Services, Inc., or one of its affiliates.  The technical support is provided by Asurion Technology Services, Inc. and Asurion Mobile Applications, LLC.
