Follow the steps below or watch the video to replace the batteries in the Homelife Motion Sensors.
Important: After replacing the equipment battery, acknowledge any error on the touchscreen and then reboot it. Refer to Rebooting the Homelife Touchscreen.
Visonic MP-841 Motion Sensor | Replacing the Batteries |
| This device requires two CR123A batteries. - Press upward on the motion sensor to separate the motion sensor from the bracket. This procedure is used when the motion sensor is mounted on the wall.
- Replace the batteries using two Lithium CR123A batteries. Ensure the batteries are in the right polarity.
- Put back the motion sensor on the bracket using the same instructions after mounting the bracket.
- Push down until a click is heard.

| This device requires six AA batteries. - To open the sensor, unlock it by inserting a small screwdriver into the locking notch located on the bottom of the sensor. Turn it to the unlock position.
- Hold the base and slide the unit body down to remove it from the base.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Insert new batteries.
- To close the sensor, slide the detector back onto the base and lock the detector at this time.

| This device requires two CR123A batteries. - Using a small flathead screwdriver, turn the slotted switch at the base of the sensor one-half turn clockwise.
- Remove the cover from the base.
- Using your finger, carefully pull the battery compartment from the cover.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly.
- Insert two CR123A batteries, observing proper polarity.
- Replace the self-locking cover onto the base.

| This device requires one CR123 battery. - Loosen the bottom screw on the motion sensor with a Phillips screwdriver until the cover pops off.
- A green board is held at the top by a catch tab. Gently pull this tab up.
- Remove the board from the case by pulling the section closest to the catch tab first. Gently remove the board from the sensor and set it aside.
- Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace with the new battery.
- Re-insert the board’s tab-like bottom back into the cover.
- Lean the board forward until the tab clicks into place.
- Reconnect the base and cover, and tighten the screw base.

| This device requires three CR123 batteries. - Loosen the screw at the bottom of the sensor with a Phillips screwdriver.
- Insert a flathead screwdriver under the cover by the screw and twist to remove. Set the cover aside.
- Remove the old batteries and dispose of them properly, as recommended by the battery manufacturer.
- Replace all three old batteries with new batteries.
- Slip the cover back on until you hear it snap into place.
- Tighten the screw.
