Resetting Two-Step Verification Methods

Solution

If you lose access to the methods you set up to receive a One-Time Passcode for Two-Step Verification (TSV), you may need to reset the TSV method.

Complete the following steps to reset your TSV method.

For an easier experience, perform the TSV method resets on a device connected to your home internet service. If you are not connected to your home internet service, additional steps are required using ID Scan.

1

Go to My Account, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.

Result: The TSV page displays.

Note: If you do not remember your User ID or Password, or experience an issue signing in, see Recover Your Cox User ID or Reset Your Cox Password.

2

Click the drop-down option next to the TSV type at the top of the page.

3

Do you have an existing TSV option that you have access to?

4

Confirm your identity via text message, email, or phone.

Note: If you are using your home internet connection, then continue to step 6.

Are you currently connected to your home network?

  • If yes, then the Reset Complete page displays. Click Continue to sign in.

  • If no, then use ID Scan to complete the reset.
7

Once you receive the Reset Complete message, you will need to sign in with your credentials, and you will automatically be directed to a page to set up your new TSV methods.

Note: It is recommended that you set up more than one method, preferably SMS and email so that you have more than one way to receive the one-time passcode. See Enrolling in Two-Step Verification Online.
