Checking Video Usage in Your Security Solutions Subscriber Portal

Solution

Your Surveillance account includes a monthly amount of available motion clips, based on your service package, that is saved to the Cloud. A notification is sent as a reminder of your remaining clip storage capacity.

The set monthly amount of available motion clips resets at the beginning of each month. Additional motion clips may be ordered, up to a maximum of 46,000 clips per month, by contacting your Cox Business Security Solutions sales representative.

Cloud recording schedules are disabled when the maximum available clips are used, except for Alarm Event recordings for customers with Detection service. The Cloud recording schedules, when disabled, need to be re-enabled in the subscriber portal or mobile app. New clips are saved over the oldest, unprotected, recorded clips.

Follow the steps below to view your monthly uploads and online storage capacity in the subscriber portal.

1

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.

Note: If you have not created a MyAccount profile with a User ID and Password, see Setting Up Your MyAccount Profile.

2

From the Services section, click the Security Systems icon.

The following describes what is presented on the Video Usage pop-up window.

  • Monthly Uploads indicate the number of clips uploaded this month and the amount allowed per month based on the current service plan.

Note: Once the monthly upload limit has been reached, the system pauses all non-alarm recording schedules.

  • Online storage indicates the number of clips currently stored online and the amount allowed based on the current service plan.

Note: Once the online storage limit has been reached, the oldest unprotected clips are removed to make room for new clips as they are recorded.
