Setting Up Busy Lamp Field Feature in MyAccount

Details

The Busy Lamp feature enables a user to see when designated users are engaged in a telephone call. It is available with VoiceManager packages and the IP Centrex service.
 

Note: Monitored users are those individuals whose phone activity can be observed by others through the Shared Call Appearance feature which is available on IP Phones and Receptionist Console software.
 

Follow the steps below to set up the Busy Lamp Field feature.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com, enter your User ID and Password, and then click Sign In.
 

Note: If you have not created a MyAccount profile with a User ID and Password, see Setting Up Your MyAccount Profile.

From the Services section, click the Voice icon.

Do you have more than one account?

  • If no, then continue to the next step.
  • If yes, then from the Select an account drop-down menu, select the account to modify.

Are you a Profile Administrator or a Profile Owner changing a user's number?
  • If yes, then continue to the next step.
  • If no, then proceed to step 6 for changing your call settings.

Click the arrow to expand the User & System Management section and complete the following.

  1. Click User Feature Settings.

  2. Locate the number you are modifying and click Edit.

Click the arrow to expand the Advanced Call Settings section, then click Busy Lamp.

Result: The Busy Lamp page displays.

Are all available users being added to Busy Lamp?

  • If yes, then click Add All and then click Save.
  • If no, then select the names from the Available Users list, click Add and then click Save.

Notes:

  • To remove users from the Monitored Users list, select the name from the list and click Remove, or click Remove All to clear the list.
  • To find a user that is not in the Available Users list, in the Search field, type the user's name.

Complete next steps based on the status of KEM.
 

If KEM is … Then…
Installed
  1. From the KEM page, select the button to configure.
  2. Select the desired number from the Monitor Number drop-down menu.
  3. Click Continue and then Save.
Not Installed
  1. Select the button to configure.
  2. Select Busy Lamp Field from the Feature drop-down menu.
  3. Enter the phone number or name in the Display field, and select the desired number from the Monitor Number drop-down.
  4. After checking the desired options for Speed Dial and Call Pull, click Continue and then Save.
