We're looking for Virginia educators who go above and beyond for their students.
Do you know any? You probably do!
We know that every day, Virginia educators show up for our children and young adults. They work tirelessly to plan, teach, nurture our future community leaders, future elected officials and future workforce.
While navigating all that comes with teaching in this new normal, teachers have proven themselves to be superheroes, again and again.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Timing
- The nomination form (https://forms.office.com/r/SSC71WJwt7) will be open from March 27 - April 10, 2023
- Education Heroes will be announced during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
Eligibility
- K-12 private or public-school teachers (including Art, Music, Drama, Gym, etc.) from schools within our Virginia service area qualify.
- Teachers who were named Education Heroes in 2022 are not eligible to win in 2023.
Who selects the 10 Heroes?
- Cox employees based in Virginia volunteer their time to review applications and vote to select the recipients.
Who gets the $1,000 grant?
- Cox Education Heroes receive $1,000 for their classroom. The $1,000 grant will be awarded on behalf of the teacher to the school's PTA/PTSA/PTO or directly to the school where possible.
- Funds must benefit the teacher's classroom (e.g. supplies, field trips, technology, etc.).
