As of April 22, 2024, free Cox Business Security Suite subscriptions will no longer be included in Cox Internet plans.

If you already have the Cox Business Security Suite software downloaded, you can continue using it until October 15, 2024.
Customer Notifications will be sent out to subscribers beginning in June 2024.
Cox will discontinue offering or supporting Cox Business Security Suite Anti-Virus software for all customers as of October 15, 2024.
On or before October 15, 2024, Cox customers should remove the Cox Business Security Suite software from their devices.

What is changing?

As of April 22, 2024, free Cox Business Security Suite subscriptions will no longer be offered as part of Cox Internet plans. If you wish to keep anti-virus software on your devices, which we recommend, you should select a free or paid security option directly from security providers such as Trellix.

If you do not remove the Cox Business Security Suite software from your devices, the Cox Business Security Suite software will no longer protect your devices starting October 15, 2024.

What do I need to do by October 15, 2024?

You need to remove the Cox Business Security Suite software from your devices, such as your computer or mobile phone by October 15, 2024. If you wish to continue using anti-virus software, you will need to select either a free or paid anti-virus software option directly from a software provider and ensure it is active by October 15, 2024.

Note: Modern operating systems, Microsoft Windows and MacOS, have native anti-virus protection, such as Windows Defender for Microsoft and XProtect for MacOS.

What happens if I don’t remove Cox Business Security Suite software by October 15, 2024?

Starting October 15th, 2024, Cox will no longer offer or support Cox Business Security Suite subscriptions and your devices will no longer be protected against new emerging threats, even if the software remains on your devices. If you wish to maintain anti-virus security for your devices, you should select and install new security software directly from the provider of your choice.
