Resetting a User's Password Online

Solution

Complete the following steps to reset a MyAccount user's password online as a profile owner or administrator.

Notes:

  • You must be a profile owner or administrator to change another user's MyAccount password.
  • Changing a user's MyAccount password also changes their Webmail password.

Go to myaccount-business.cox.com and click the Forgot Password link.

Note: If you have not created an online profile with a User ID and Password, refer to Setting Up Your Online Profile.

Result: The Reset my password page displays.

Complete the following steps.

  1. In the User ID (Email Address) field, enter your email address.
  2. Click the I'm not a robot checkbox.
  3. Click Continue.

From the Contact methods page, select one of the following methods to receive a verification code.

  • Text Message
  • Voice Call
  • Email

    Result: The Get Verified page displays.

Did you receive the verification code?

  • If no, then click the Resend verification code link.

    Note: Ten attempts are allowed, five of which can be via voice or text and five via email. If you are still unable to receive the verification code, see ID Scan.

  • If yes, then in the Verification Code field, enter the code and then click Verify.

From the Reset your password page, complete the following steps.

  1. In the New Password, enter your new password using the guidelines provided.
  2. In the Confirm Password field, re-enter your new password.
  3. Click Submit.

    Result: The user's password is successfully updated.
