Let’s do this! Follow these steps to set up your Contour Stream Player:
Make sure your Cox internet service is up and running.
Connect the HDMI cable from your TV to your Contour Stream Player box.
Plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet (one that’s not controlled by a switch) and connect it to the power port on your Contour Stream Player box.
Turn your TV on using its remote control and choose the correct HDMI input from the TV menu.
If you have a Cox gateway, your Contour Stream Player box will attempt to connect to your wifi automatically. If you'd like to set up your connection manually, press the Info (i) button on your Contour Voice Remote.
Select your preferred language and follow the on-screen guide to continue activation.
Press the mic button on your Contour Voice Remote and say, “Get Started” to watch a short video about how to get the most from your Contour Stream Player service. Enjoy!

Customize your Contour Stream Player to run the way you want with some simple settings and features.
Set up Parental Controls
With Parental Controls, you can limit what can be watched on your TV. Just create a locks PIN to lock/unlock channels.
Create a locks PIN
- Press the Contour button on your remote
- Scroll to settings and press Ok
- Scroll to Parental Controls and press Ok
- Scroll to Parental Control PIN and press Ok to select On
- Enter a four-digit locks PIN, then re-enter it to confirm
- Press the Exit button to return to watching TV
- Press the Guide button on your remote
- Scroll to the channel you’re locking or unlocking
- Press the left arrow button to highlight the logo and channel number, then press Ok
- Scroll to Unlock or Lock and press Ok
- Enter your four-digit locks PIN once to unlock the channel or twice to confirm a channel lock
Change settings
- On the home page, scroll to the settings icon in the top left corner of the screen and click Ok
- On the Settings page, use the up and down arrows to scroll through customizable settings. Choose a setting and click Ok to make changes.
Set up a purchase PIN
- Press the Contour button on your remote
- Scroll to the Settings gear icon, then press Ok
- Scroll to Purchase PIN, then press Ok
- From the Purchase PIN window, press Ok
a. If the Purchase PIN is turned On, enter the current Purchase PIN
b. If the Purchase PIN is Off, then continue to the next step - Use the number keys (0–9) to set a four-digit PIN
- Re-enter the four-digit PIN to confirm your choice
- Press Exit to return to live TV

How do I use voice control on the Contour Voice Remote?
Press and hold the Microphone button, then speak a command into the microphone located at the top of your Voice Remote. Be sure to speak one to eight inches away from the microphone. Release the button when you’ve finished the command. Learn more about the Contour Voice Remote.

The microphone is only on while you’re pressing and holding the Mic button on your Voice Remote. You’ll see a flashing light on your Voice Remote and a microphone symbol on the TV connected to your Contour Stream Player which will let you know that the microphone is on and listening for voice commands.

You can use voice control to access your subscription services, search for shows, get recommendations and more. Because the Voice Remote understands natural speech, you can search by keywords or phrases.
What happens to my voice commands after I speak into the Voice Remote?

After you speak into the Voice Remote, the voice commands are sent to us and our contracted service provider for processing. We provide these commands to the voice control service to improve our products, services and voice recognition algorithms.
Why doesn’t my Voice Remote recognize my voice commands?

If your commands aren’t recognized, make sure you’re speaking clearly and at a natural, conversational volume. Hold the remote one to eight inches away while giving a command and hold down the Mic button until you finish speaking. If you’re still having trouble, check for other sources of noise near you that may be interfering with your voice commands.
Also, try checking your battery level by visiting the About section of the Contour Stream Settings menu. If your battery level is red or yellow, try changing your batteries.
Can I watch On Demand content with the Contour app?
Can I watch On Demand content with the Contour app?
Yes, just open the app and swipe left to right to open the main navigation menu, then select the On Demand menu to watch purchased content or your active network subscriptions. To view recently viewed/rented Cox On Demand programs, tap the icon in the top left-hand corner and select For You to see rented content.

Why can’t I get On Demand content?
On Demand services aren’t available in all areas. If you live in an area that doesn’t offer On Demand through your Contour Stream Player, you won’t have access through the Contour app. Also, keep in mind that not all content can be streamed outside your home.
